In the Early Roman period, Sepphoris – a close neighbour of Nazareth – was the provincial capital of Galilee. Although larger and more urbanised than Nazareth, Sepphoris preserves many features of Early Roman period construction, including plastered floors, water installations, general structural dimensions and masonry techniques.
