Gamla, like Jotopata, participated in the disastrous revolt against Rome and was conquered and destroyed in the First Century. Although located in a different region (Golan) and of basaltic construction, the remains of Gamla present a relatively clear picture of a first-century settlement, including a synagogue and olive press installation.
